The Market

Welcome to Nantucket’s original source for farm fresh goodness.

At times our Farm Market has a laid-back atmosphere, but it is usually a bustling marketplace. Our knowledgeable and energetic staff is continually rotating in fresh fruits and farm-grown vegetables to keep everything at the peak of freshness!

First timers in the market are often surprised at the wide variety of products we carry in addition to fresh produce. In season, we feature our own farm-grown veggies and strive to source as much locally, regionally and sustainably as possible. You can always find a selection of regional dairy products, meat, and frozen food as well as fresh seafood from our partners at Nantucket Fresh Catch.

Ready for some lunch to take to the beach? You will find ready-to-eat sandwiches and salads, prepared foods like our famous Raw Salad and Buffalo Chicken salad as well as chips, dips and spreads and pre-cut fruits and veggies to snack on.  And if you need any beach items, we’ve got you covered with chairs, umbrellas, sunscreen, towels, and beach toys.

Need a gift for the dog sitter, or for the person who’s been checking your mail while you’ve been enjoying your time on Nantucket? How about some authentic Beach Plum Jelly, or Nantucket Honey? Once you get home, a Bartlett’s T-shirt or sweatshirt will remind you of your time on the island. And if the haze of vacation fun made you forget to pick up something while you were here, you can get lots of items on-line, any time of year.

You can see and feel the rhythm of the farm as you visit us at different times of the year.  In spring, you will find the Nantucket Garden Club’s bright and beautiful Daffodil Festival in the Garden Center, and June ushers in our strawberry season, with pick-your-own days and our Strawberry Festival. Our Greenhouses are busy growing annuals, perennials and herb and vegetable starts for gardens and window boxes, and they are all on enticing display in the Garden Center.  Summer brings a plethora of fresh farm-grown flowers and veggies, with corn, tomatoes, and lilies taking center stage.  Watch for PYO tomato days from late August into September! Autumn finds us harvesting winter squash and pumpkins and focusing on getting ready for the holidays. Wreath-making supplies and poinsettias arrive in November, and wreaths are custom decorated for shipping around the country. We take a short break around Christmas and welcome our regular customers back with daily hot lunch specials and warming soups through the winter. The pace is a little slower as friends meet to have a hot breakfast sandwich or some lunch in the market and before we know it, we start to see pansies, ranunculus and primroses for sale in the garden center, and the cycle continues.
